TIM EDS RAIH JUARA 3 DALAM NATIONAL LAW DEBATE COMPETITION
Prestasi kali ini diraih oleh tim English Debate School (EDS) SMK PGRI 2 KEDIRI. Mereka berhasil meraih juara 3 dalam ajang National Law Debate School Competition yang diadakan oleh Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Kota Kediri. Perlombaan ini berlangsung pada Selasa, 24 Oktober 2023. Siswa/i yang mengikuti perlombaan tersebut terdiri dari 3 orang. Mereka adalah Ananda Feren (X DKV 2), Ananda Sofiatul Fiani (XI DKV 2), dan Ananda Arini Fadhila ‘Ayuni (X DKV 2).
Berbagai rintangan tidak mudah dilewati begitu saja oleh tim karena mereka harus bersaing ketat dengan tim-tim dari sekolah lain yang tentunya juga unggul dalam bidang English Debate. Tetapi berkat kegigihan serta terus berusaha dan mereka yakin akan pepatah “usaha tidak mengkhianati hasil”, akhirnya setelah melewati usaha demi usaha mereka dinyatakan lolos dari semifinal bersama 3 tim dari sekolah lain yaitu MAN 1 Kabupaten Kediri, MAN 2 Kota Kediri, dan MAN 2 Nganjuk. Perjalanan mereka belum berhenti sampai disitu, mereka masih menunggu hasil pengumuman dari dewan juri untuk menetapkan siapa saja yang mendapat juara. Tidak lama, juara pun diumumkan. Juara 1 diraih oleh tim EDS dari MAN 1 Kabupaten Kediri, juara 2 diraih oleh tim EDS dari MAN 2 Kota Kediri, dan juara 3 diraih oleh tim EDS dari SMK PGRI 2 Kediri. Meski belum meraih gelar juara 1, mereka mengaku sangat puas atas hasil yang diraih. “Semoga di perlombaan selanjutnya dapat meraih hasil yang lebih baik lagi,” tutur Arini. (Lisa)
